Position Overview:
This is a dual-role position ideal for someone with a strong background in concrete field work (such as a former concrete finisher or crew lead) who also has experience in estimating. The ideal candidate is confident both on the job site and in front of a set of plans. You will be responsible for managing day-to-day operations on active concrete jobs while also preparing accurate cost estimates for upcoming work.

Key Responsibilities:Project Management (On-Site Responsibilities):
- Plan, organize, and oversee concrete construction activities on residential and commercial job sites.
- Manage crews, coordinate subcontractors, schedule materials, and ensure timely project completion.
- Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress, troubleshoot issues, and enforce safety and quality standards.
- Serve as the main point of contact for clients during the construction phase.
- Track and manage project costs, schedules, labor hours, and change orders.
- Ensure projects meet building codes, specifications, and customer expectations.
Estimating (Pre-Construction Responsibilities):
- Perform accurate quantity takeoffs and prepare detailed estimates for concrete work including formwork, placing, finishing, and materials.
- Read and interpret blueprints, structural drawings, and project specifications to develop bid proposals.
- Solicit and evaluate pricing from suppliers and subcontractors.
- Use estimation software tools (e.g., Bluebeam, ProEst, PlanSwift) for digital takeoffs and bid preparation.
- Prepare and submit complete bid packages and change order proposals.
- Assist in budgeting, value engineering, and project handoff to the field team.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in concrete construction (e.g., foreman, finisher, superintendent).
- 3+ years of experience in concrete estimating and/or project management.
- Strong knowledge of commercial and residential concrete construction, including flatwork, foundations, walls, slabs, etc.
- Proficient with construction software tools (Bluebeam, Excel, Prolog, Primavera, or similar).
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specs, and contract documents.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple bids and active job sites simultaneously.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation (travel to job sites required).
Pay
– Competitive hourly rates start from $45 to $57 per hour, based on experience.
